Speaking at Kiplinger Fellowship, Journalism Interactive

Thank you to the Kiplinger Fellows program and the Journalism Interactive team for inviting me to give presentations this month on mobile newsgathering. It’s always a great to see new faces and share ideas. I’d never been to either host campus — Ohio State University and the University of Maryland, respectively — so these visits were particularly fun.

The 2014 Kiplinger class, with 29 fellows, was filled was tremendously talented journalists from across the world, including Canada, China, Great Britain, Greece, Kenya, Philippines, Sweden and the Ukraine.

It was a similarly impressive crowd at Journalism Interactive, where my class of 100-plus academics asked great questions and kept open minds on ways to experiment with new ways of storytelling.

I look forward to reconnecting in the future with attendees to see how they’ve been able to incorporate some of the ideas we talked about.
