SPJ Sandy aid: Journalists helping journalists

The Press Club of Long Island, the New Jersey SPJ Pro Chapter and the New York Deadline Club have teamed up to help journalists affected by superstorm Sandy and the darned nor’easter that added misery to the pain.

Each chapter is asking journalists in their respective areas to donate or seek out necessary help through social media and through the organizations themselves.

Here’s what the Press Club put up on its website. Below is a form to fill out for donors or people seeking help.

We hope you and your families are safe and warm following superstorm Sandy and the nor’easter.

So many journalism colleagues have been affected storm and need help, large and small. Many of you are also looking for ways to lend a hand.

Do you need a place to charge up, get access to the web or simply to have a place to work? Do you need a warm place to stay, clothing or other essentials?

If you’re in need of help, or if you’re willing to donate, please don’t be shy.

Contact us at pressclubofli@gmail.com and we’ll connect you. Or post a comment on our Facebook page.
